FAQ's Related to Plantations
1)Can Jatropha be growth in the United States?
Yes. But NOT in a commercial basis. Jatropha is a tropical plant from Brazil, than can not be commercially grow in Continental USA.
2) When will the first harvest be?
The first harvest of our high yield varietes will be in year 1, increasing production until year 5 and followed by annual harvests through year 40.
3)How politically stable is Brazil?
Brazil is not only a very stable democracy, but the 10th economy inthe world, with its on biodiesel market estimated in 8 billions litter (year 2008), so its not the same investing in Brazil than in other smaller or poorer countries.
4)Are hurricanes a problem? Wheather?
There are no hurricanes in Brazil. Brazil has a perfect tropical wheather to allow high yeld Jatropha harvests!
5)Are there diseases or pests which destroy the trees?
There are many diseases or pests that attack Jatropha that is a poisonous tree. For added security, however, our team os scientists and works will continue to monitor all of the trees, and can quickly respond at the first sign of any problem.
